"Murree and the Gullies" is a delightful book written by the intrepid trekker and part time explorer, Tahir Jehangir. Easy to read and interwoven with some wonderful anecdotes, it takes one into the past, with its riveting historical accounts of how Nathia Gali and Murree came into being as summer resorts and then back to the present with pragmatic advice on where to stay and what to do during the "season". It's a must read for modern day visitors to these scenic "Lesser Himalayas" as he describes them, which are now easily accessible from Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Abbotabad. This interesting book fills in all the gaps of history and adds to one's appreciation of these pine scented mountains!
