Description

This is Aftab’s first book. The whole manuscript has been written very spontaneously without consulting any other works. Some terminologies of the Holy Quran have been taken from “Glossary of the Holy Quran” written by his father. The book is a quasi-biographical account of author’s experiences as a bureaucrat. The chapter “My Passion for Religion” is very distinct and original. His analysis and interpretation of various Qur’anic issues speaks of author’s deep reflection on the subject. Some of the historical events that he has inked down; enjoy significant credibility since it is a first-hand account of what the author witnessed or what was conveyed to him by his father.

Aftab Habib is a former civil servant and served in the District Management Group for 35 years with dignity and honour. He holds a Masters of Science degree in Applied Psychology. Apart from numerous courses he undertook, his academic highlight was going to Harvard John Kennedy School of Govt. for Leadership Studies and to Melbourne University for Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation.

His passions throughout his life have been an in-depth study of the Holy Quran, understanding classical music and reading books. He has his own private company, “Leadership Plus”, which gave him a platform for holding workshops, symposia and giving lectures. As he explains in the Preface also, the primary intention was to share his experiences with those who love him and to pass it on to his progeny.
